Make your urban escape. - Brakkeduine 4x4 Sand Trail, May 2011

This 4x4 Sand Trail is basically a 15-kilometer backyard sandbox for grown-ups who like to play with their 4WD vehicles. While it’s about as much fun as you can have in sand, it’s by no means easy, especially on hot summer days when the sand is soft and unforgiving. Not to worry though, we took along our local 4X4 accredited trainer and Mitsubishi “Spirit of Africa” official Ralph Clark who is well equipped with recovery gear and hints on successful sand driving. The sand was by no means "soft". It remained unforgiving due to the large "puddles" formed after heavy rain in the area. Most of the vehicles which attempted to drive through these puddles were soon trapped in the quick sand and a few successful snatch recoveries later we were all on our way again until the next obstacle.......
In the end it was a great day had by all. We will be back to play again soon!
Thanks to Ryan Oliver from Mitsubishi Motors East London (www.ronnies.co.za) and Ralph Clark of Adventure 4x4 Academy (www.4x4trails.co.za) for a great day!
